Schroeder Cabinets. Hand Built Bass Cabinets.

Canadian bassist/composer/engineer Tom Nagy is a man of many passions.  His musical career began on the piano at age 4 and progressed through a B.Mus. from Toronto's prestigious Humber College.

Currently playing with international blues phenom trio the Gary Cain Band (2018 International Blues Challenge semi-finalists), Tom's performances span jazz and fusion (including Mahavishnu Orchestra tribute project Vital Transformation), country (top-40 artist Drake Jensen), prog rock (Genesis tribute project G2R) and flamenco nuevo (international guitar star Juneyt).  His countless live performances, whether as bandleader or respected sideman, have helped hone his versatile skills, as he moves between tasteful, complex harmonies and raunchy, fast power playing.  Used extensively during the recording of the first Gary Cain Band album, "Twangadelic Bluesophunk," Tom's Schroeder 1210R has shaped his playing immeasurably.

"I bought my Schroeder 1210R a decade ago, and it's still going strong.  Nothing can compare to it in terms of sonic punch, clarity, raw power and portability - an 800W powerhouse rig that fits in the trunk of a subcompact and can be carried in one hand.  I recently retrofitted it with the improved neo drivers that Jorg is using in Schroeder cabinets now - it sounds better than ever, and the weight has dropped 15 lbs.  It's a dream cabinet!"

Aside from live performances, Tom can be found composing scores for video and live theatre, serving on local arts organization boards, and honing his audio production skills.
